Incoming students

Welcome to Bonn and Welcome to the Institute of Psychology!

All Erasmus students need to be nominated to Bonn University by their home university first. Application for an Erasmus grant always takes place via your home university.

Language requirements for Erasmus + students at the Institute of Psychology:

  • German is the main language of Instruction at the University of Bonn, especially in undergraduate degree programmes (bachelor).

Therefore a German level of B1 is required in general. We highly recommend you to deepen your knowledge of German language before your stay.

The departmental coordinator, Prof. Dr. Martin Reuter, he can advise you on academic matters and is specialiazed in advice regarding the courses offer of the Institute of Psychology.

  • International Office:

The Additional contact for Erasmus questions and support is the International Office. Mrs Gudrun Hille, the Erasmus Student Advisor at the International Office takes care of more general organisational matters which concern all international students, contact via Email: Erasmus-Assist.

Important: The Erasmus Program at Bonn University is organized in a decentralized way. Thus your Erasmus departmental coordinator and the International Office will be in charge of your Erasmus stay.

Steps after you have been nominated from your University :

  • If you have been nominated as an Erasmus student at Bonn University you still need to register officially. Please send your signed and stamped application to Kristina Beier (preferably via email).
  • Once you are officially registered, you will receive all further information.
  • Information on accommodations, language classes and enrolment (after arrival).

Course Choice:

  • Choose the semester which applies to your stay at Bonn University


Course registration:

  • Talk to your teacher in the first lesson and remind him of your application.

It is very important that you deal with these matters as soon as possible

and that you choose and register for your courses!
